Kenson Nutrition teaches people how to realistically achieve a healthy, balanced and fit lifestyle using flexible dieting and workout strategies to suit any type of lifestyle (ie: road warrior, family, serious athlete, happy hour lover).  It is not a “one size fits all” approach.  Every person is different – different food preferences, intolerances, appetites, cravings, strengths/weaknesses, activity level, medical state… the list goes on and on.  No two people are exactly the same which is why no two diet and exercise prescriptions should be the same.

Krystal Gutierrez, MS, RDN

Hi, my name is Krystal Gutierrez. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master of Science in Nutrition. I have a wonderful husband, and two sweet with a sprinkle of sassy, little girls. I love catching a workout with my hubby and baking anything that has chocolate with my girls- I call it balance!😉
I have always had a passion for food and fitness. I am half Italian and my husband is Hispanic so when two of the best ethnic cuisines marry, boy is it a life of some tasty meals and lots of secret recipes from Grandma! Luckily, I’ve figured out ways to cut some of the calories in our traditional family recipes while keeping the flavor so I can actually keep a waistline… because c’mon, when I think of Italian and Mexican food, the first ingredient that comes to mind is CHEESE!!!🧀
I started working out, primarily running, at age 14, while also being a dancer and cheerleader. Into adulthood, my workouts continued to be mostly cardio with a bit of resistance training from aerobic kickboxing. I always stayed as far away from weights as possible fearing they would make me look “bulky”. I didn’t believe what anyone told me. I felt like I knew my body best- I put on and hold a lot of muscle for a female; therefore, I would get “thick” if I even touched a weight. Well, low and behold, after having my second daughter, I felt like my usual cardio and kickboxing routine just wasn’t cutting it anymore. After much convincing from my husband, and a few other family members, I caved and decided to give weight lifting a try. Fast forward 7 months…I was lean as could be with beautifully sculpted muscles and single digit body fat taking the stage at my first fitness competition! I even took 1st place in my Figure class and 2nd overall!  Boy, did it feel amazing to prove to myself that I could get in that great of shape and show it off on a stage in front of hundreds of people. It definitely took some guts!
As much as I love challenging myself, my passion is helping others transform their food and fitness life from one of guilt and shame to one of peace and enjoyment in every calorie they consume and workout they complete. I believe that every food has a purpose (yes, even chocolate, wine and pizza!), and I want people to know what it feels like to feel fit and healthy- mentally and physically.
